Running- There were three running events in the Ancient Olympics
The stade-a sprinting race.The athletes would run side to the stadium to the other side of the stadium.
The diaulos – a middle distance race.The athletes ran two lengths of the stadium.
The dolichs- an endurance race.The athletes ran approximately 20 lengths of the stadium.

I, too, would have chosen the running races if I was competing in the Ancient Olympic games. I quite enjoy going for a run and sometimes I even go running with my son, Aronui. Do you ever go running?
