Manaiakalani Film Festival 2016

This is my poem about the film festival. We sat with Glen Innes.

Fun and excitement

In pitch dark with some light

Lots of short movies to watch

Manaiakalani students

Funny movies

Enormous amount of effort

Sylvia Park

Taking part

In a cinema

Video played from other schools

A lot of Olympic short movies

Lots to remember

Making Our Movie

On a sunny day we made our film festival movie. Our movie is called Kotahitanga. My parts were helping take out the whiteboard, drinking the milk and holding the letter P. My teacher asked people to film. Our class film is cool! We watched our film on the X-treme screen at Sylvia Park and went there on a bus. I had fun doing all of this.

Take 9!

I created a Snagit screencast with my sister, Faye, who is in Room 9.  We worked together to record our ideas about what we liked about our favourite movie from the Film Festival.

Trip to Film Festival

Last Wednesday was a sunny day because we went on a bus to the film festival at Sylvia Park. We were told to sit on red comfy chairs at the movies. Then Mr Burt (Pt. England principal) starting talking. Then this video of a girl talking Maori began the festival. Next Pt. England's first movie came on. Later on our class movie came on and I liked it on the X-treme screen. We watched a lot of other movies too and when our session came to an end we left and we walked to the bus to go back to school.

In the afternoon we were allowed to watch a movie so we could write comments. I watched Manaiakalani Man. My teacher was taking photos of us. I did a Superman pose. Some people were going crazy and dancing to Room 9's movie.
