This was our maths. We had to make a 10 Km run .
We are learning to use a scale map and give directions using turns and points of the compass

Group: Prudence, Leilani and Leanah

Fun Run: we had to create a 10km run around Mangarapeti using a map in Figure It Out (Level 3 Geometry and Measurement)

This is our route:

1 Start at Mangarapeti school.

2.Go up Plunkett Drive.

3. Go onto Kings Drive, then turn left.

4. Keep going straight ahead.

5.Turn south on Kings Road and keep running.

6.Keep going then you will pass the bakery which leads you onto Wha Road.

7. Keep going up and when you reach the second street on Sydney Street turn.

8.That will lead you to Lincoln street then you north up which will then you onto Kupe drive.

9.Then go up which will lead you to Plunket drive again.

Polygon shape tiling

Last week we made paper bricks and put it on paper to make a brick wall. When we finished that we got to do that the same but on our Chromebook. We got to choose a shape and had to make it the same size and the same color. This is a polygon shape which was used out of diamonds and I used green and red. This is how it turned out:

Maths Area

Last week we did a maths activity. My buddy was Shakaia. We had to count how many squares were supposed to go on the big piece of paper. The number was 18. When we were ready we glued the squares onto the big paper. Then when we glued them on we drew flowers on  the squares. Then we had  write our name too. Then we were done.

What's the difference?

WALT measure the length of objects to the nearest tenth of a centimeter.
We did a measurement to see how big our hand is compared to Steven Adams. We had a buddy to help us with our measurement. First we had to draw around our hand on a piece of coloured paper. Then we had to measure our hand, the span and the length. After we had written our name on the piece of paper and the span and the length measurement, we cut it out and glued it in our maths book. This is what I worked out.

Fractions With Clay

Yesterday we made fraction pizzas and sausages and they were made out of clay. We had to make the clay soft, then we had to make a round pizza and a sausage and we had to cut them in half with our ruler. Also we had to think about the size of the pizza and sausage.
